HP Recommended

I've checked several times for compatibility and even the HP site says they're compatible.  I attempted to place the 206X toner cartridges in my printer and they don't fit.  They seem to have an extra tab on them that the 206A doesn't that keeps them up too high to close the drawer.  I print a lot in my small business and spent over $400 to get a complete set of genuine HP cartridges after an update made my Smart Ink compatible (worked for over 2 months!) unusable.  I am so frustrated and don't have the money to purchase another whole set to get my printer back up, but am dead in the water with a big event coming up that I need to print packets for!  Am I misreading compatibility or has HP changed something so they're no longer compatible?
