Cancelled instant ink program. Installed new cartridges, getting error not recognizing cartridges.  Tried installing again.

Can you see the Carriage Jam also when removing the ink cartridges, or does it change to another error then?

 

Assuming the other answer is correct, please make sure you install the ink cartridges correctly as shown by below video, installing the ink cartridges in a wrong direction may cause such an error:

If the carriage jam error remain, please open the cartridge door and take a picture with the ink cartridges installed.

Hi,

What is the ink cartridge number installed in the printer?

 

Which cartridge was replaced? is it the Black or the Tri-Color one?

 

What cartridge is indicated by the error? is it the black (Circle) one or the tri-color (3 dots) one? you will see a cartridge indication mark above or below to the error message.

I loaded both the tri-Color and the black.  The black is xl, the tri-color is not.  The error I am getting is ink cartridge is missing  I did remove the plastic tab.  I am also getting a paper jam error and there is none.  I'm wondering if it has something to do with me signing up for instant ink but cancelling.  I loaded the instant ink cartridges, they printed a couple of pages and then is said they couldn't be used to print since i had cancelled the instant ink account.  I have 'tried' to uninstall and reinstall the printer but can't get both errors to go away.  Really frustrated.

Hi,

As stated in my previous post, above or below the error message you should see a cartridge indication, either a circle for the black or 3 dots for the printer, be sure to scroll the message from top to bottom to see the cartridge indication mark, be sure to clarify which ink cartridge is indicated on the screen

 

This is not related to HP Instant Ink, any such would have a clear message about Instant Ink, not any other as you describe.

 

Also, please be sure to follow below steps to make sure there is no paper jam in the printer:

Ink cartridge shows both, I see 3 dots and one black circle.

 

When clearing the paper jam, I cannot move the ink cartridges left or right.

What number are the ink cartridges?

 

Could you please remove both cartridges and attach a picture of the inside of the printer where the cartridges are installed?

 

Also, please also add a picture of the ink cartridges, both its top label and the back contacts of the ink cartridges?

 

Have you checked for any paper jam from all access areas as shown by the attached document and video? including the front door, the back, the bottom of the printer, etc.?
