I reviewed your post and I understand that the printer is not printing black.

Don’t worry, I assure you I will try my best to get this sorted.

Are you able to make a copy in black?

Meanwhile, I recommend you follow the steps in the below article and check if it helps.

Hi

Thanks your reply. The HP5510 prints colour OK, but zero black and does not copy black either. I have updated all drivers/firmware to latest versions. I have also cleaned the printhead with iso propyl alcohol several times and also underneath print head with paper (saturated with warm water). It still does not print a single dot of black. Have also tried all the suggestions you have made but to no avail.
Looking at the many comments in HP Forum it seems this is quite a common problem with 5510 and there is some sort of reset procedure that works (unplugging mains etc did not work).
Grateful for your help. The printer is circa 2013 so way out of warranty, but would like to fix it. Cannot just chuck it away as am sure there is a fix. The cartridges are non HP but colour ones work OK so black should work also.
Many thanks indeed.

As you have mentioned that you are facing the same issue when you make a copy, that confirms a hardware issue and I recommend you contact support to check the available service options.

Here is how you can get in touch with support.

1)Click on this link – www.hp.com/contacthp/

2)Select the product type.

3)Enter the serial number of your device or select let HP detect your product option.

4)Select the country from the drop-down.

5)You should see the HP phone support number or Chat option listed.

Cheers!
