Envy 5530 Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an Envy 5530 All In One Printer.  I replaced both print cartridges with new HP 61 color and black cartridges.  Now I get a message that the black cartridge is not the correct cartridge.  The color works fine.  I put the old black cartridge back in the printer and the message says the cartridge needs to be replaced.  I have cleaned the contacts on both the cartridge and in the printer several times but still, get the same message.  The printer is working in the Single Cartridge mode.  I have run the Print Doctor and it says to follow the instructions on the screen.  I have unplugged the printer and plugged it back in.

 

I'm all out of ideas of what to try.  I hate the idea of buying another new cartridge and take the chance of having the same problem.  Any ideas?

If you have already performed the steps from the document Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

 

If you are having trouble navigating through the above options, it's most likely because the device is out of warranty. If yes? please send me a private message with the region you are contacting us from. Check next to your profile name, you should see a little blue envelope, please click on it.
