When I was setting up instant ink's 6-month free trial for my new printer I kind of went through the set up proces without reading anything after I thought i understood that I would get 700 pages a month. Now it seems that it actually would have required me to choose the 700 page plan. Can I change the plan now without losing the 6-month trial? I Checked this question already and so far there was one question that was answered by the same person two different ways. First they said that the person would be charged for the upgraded plan if they upgraded during the trial period. Then two messages later they said that th eperson could in fact upgrde the plan during their trial period without any charges. In another post someone was told that typically, the free trial period allows 700 pages per month of printing, regardless of the plan. I am just wondering what the final say s with whether or not I can upgrade my plan during the trial period and if tere is a limit to how many times i change my plan? I want to pick the plan that is right for me and I figure the trial period is the best time to try a few different plans.

Hi @PGD898,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I understand you sign up for HP Instant Ink's free trial, it typically offers 700 pages per month during the trial period, regardless of the plan you initially selected. Here's how it works:
Key Details:
- Free Trial Page Limit: During the 6-month trial, you get up to 700 pages per month without being charged, no matter what plan you choose.
- Upgrading Plans: You can upgrade your plan at any time during the trial without losing the free trial. However, changes may take effect starting the next billing cycle, depending on when you make the change.
- Downgrading Plans: You can also downgrade the plan during the trial, but it won’t affect your 700-page limit for the trial period.
- Charges During Trial: You won’t be charged for upgrading or downgrading plans during the trial. Charges only begin after the trial ends and are based on the plan you’ve chosen at that time.
- Flexibility During Trial: You can change plans multiple times during the trial to explore what works best for you. This allows you to evaluate your actual printing needs.
- Go to the HP Instant Ink dashboard (hpinstantink.com) and log in to your account.
- Navigate to the Plan Settings section and choose the plan you’d like to try.
- Save the changes and confirm the update.
