hp6968

I have had my HP6968 for 3 1/2 years I   had to recently replace my ink,i found out because of a firmware update the printer will no longer take other manufactures cartridges so i spent the double the price for the HP ink and installed the printer will not print

I had run the printer head cleaning program a few times and I have removed the cartridges and manually cleaned the screens with the cleaning kit and still it will not print,If I blow through the screens after cleaning I get ink on the paper tower that i placed under the printer,I am very unhappy that the printer will not work after such a short time and not alot of usage looks like i will have to buy a new printer as a new print head cost as much as a new printer I may purchase another brand if HP printers only last 3-4 years, very disappointed in HP products

@flytyer1, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

I understand your concern. Make sure you have tried the steps mentioned in this document - Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues

Try making a standalone copy in black and color to check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

If the issue persists, I'm afraid this could be an issue with the printhead of the printer. Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.

The printhead is non-removable on this model printer. Replacing it will not fix this issue.

If the printer is out of warranty, I suggest you upgrade the printer. You may visit Hp Store to check the available printers.

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
