HP OfficeJet Pro 6978 All-in-One Printer

I recently replaced my ink cartridges (after the printer just stopped printing any colors at all, without a low ink warning). I performed all recommended troubleshooting and cleaning of printheads. The new color cartridges are working, but not the black one.

I have actually tried three different new black cartridges to confirm that the cartridge itself was not the problem. Even with an HP brand cartridge, there has been no change.

I can't see the black bar.
The black cartridge is defective!

I have tried three different, brand new black cartridges - it seems illogical that all of them would be defective when they are not from the same seller or manufacturer.
