Recently I began having problems with my HP Officejet Pro 7720 All-In-One machine. All the latests updates, drivers, firmware are installed (according to HP App and Windows update). I'm running windows 11 Home on a 1-year-old HP Spectre which is also up-to-date. I have turned the machine off and unplugged it from the outlet and waited over 30 seconds. I have removed and reinstalled the printer, which usually takes care of issues...not this time. The machine is connected to my network, which has not changed.
*The machine will not accept a document in the feeder and there is no error message.
*The machine will not copy off the scanner glass. The screen says "Copying" and a circular symbol just goes around forever without any error message.
*There is paper, no jambs, and the printer has ink. I have done alignments and head cleaning protocols.
*The machine will not print via wireless from my laptop. There is no USB port on this model (which sucks), so I can't try to print connected by wire. The screen says "Printing" and the circular symbol just goes around and around without any error message.
*The machine will print a page after doing a head cleaning or alignment or after resetting from the machine screen to give printer information, but I cannot print any external documents not generated within the machine.
*The HP troubleshooter for the printer does not find any errors or available drivers or firmware.
*I always clear my print que and have restarted the print spooler several times during various troubleshooting suggestions I find online.
*I've tried direct wireless printing to bypass my router. Same results.
I've exhausted all resources I can find on the HP and Windows websites and by internet search. Has anyone had this issue? The machine is only about 2-3 years old with light duty. Should I accept that my machine has an internal issue that can't be resolved and purchase a new one?...that has a USB port. Not having a USB port for direct cable printing is downright stupid IMHO.
