Streaking with some colors. Have changed to new ink and still does it. Ran all of the diagnostics and cleaning. Everything comes up fine except the streaking on green/yellow and purple/pink.  any help would be great.

Hi @Smak102,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for sharing the image — that’s a print quality diagnostic page from your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025, and based on what I see:

  • The magenta, yellow, and composite colors (like green and purple) show banding or streaking.
  • The black text and other primary blocks look fine, which means black is likely okay.

1. Run “Printhead Cleaning” – Again, Twice

Sometimes a single cleaning isn't enough. Here's how to run a deep cleaning:

  1. On the printer's touchscreen, go to:
    • SetupPrinter MaintenanceClean Printhead
  2. Run this 2–3 times, with 5-minute breaks between to avoid overheating the nozzles.
  3. Print a new test page after each cleaning to compare improvements.

⚠️ If there's no improvement after 3 cleanings, go to the next step.

2. Align the Printhead (Even If You Already Did)

Misaligned heads can cause banding on certain composite colors.

  • Go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead.
  • Follow on-screen instructions, then re-run the color test.

3. Manual Cleaning (If Still Failing)

If you're still seeing streaking, try a manual cleaning:

Option A – Use HP Utility (Software)

On Windows:

  1. Open the HP Smart app > Select your printer > Printer Settings.
  2. Under Advanced Settings, find ToolsPrint Quality Toolbox.
  3. Run Level 2 or Level 3 cleaning, which may not be available on the touchscreen.

Option B – Physical Cleaning (Last Resort)

Only attempt this if you're comfortable:

  1. Remove the ink cartridges.
  2. Gently clean the printhead electrical contacts and nozzle area with a lint-free cloth and distilled water (not alcohol).
  3. Let it dry completely and reinsert.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
