Hi @race2024,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer still displays a "low ink" message after you've installed new cartridges, here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Check Cartridge Installation

  • Ensure that the cartridges are properly installed. Remove the cartridges and reinsert them, making sure they click into place.

2. Clean the Cartridge Contacts

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Remove the cartridges and gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridges and the corresponding contacts inside the printer with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Allow the contacts to dry for a few minutes before reinserting the cartridges.

3. Check for Protective Tape

  • Make sure you have removed all protective tape from the cartridges. Sometimes, a piece of tape can remain on the cartridge, preventing proper contact.

4. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Ensure your printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve cartridge recognition issues.
  • You can update the firmware through the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP website and downloading the latest firmware for your printer model.

5. Reset the Printer

  • Try resetting your printer by unplugging it while it is turned on, waiting 60 seconds, and then plugging it back in. After the printer restarts, check if the error persists.

6. Align the Printer

  • Run a cartridge alignment from your printer's control panel. This process can help the printer recognize new cartridges properly.
  • Navigate to the printer's settings menu and find the "Align Printer" option. Follow the on-screen instructions.

7. Check Cartridge Authenticity

  • Verify that the cartridges you purchased are genuine HP cartridges. Non-genuine or remanufactured cartridges may not be recognized properly by the printer.
  • If you suspect the cartridges may not be genuine, check the packaging or contact Staples for more information.

8. Use HP Smart App

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device.
  • Check for any notifications or updates related to cartridge issues. The app can sometimes offer solutions or more detailed error messages.

9. Hard Reset

  • Perform a hard reset of the printer:
    1. Disconnect all cables, including the power cord, from the printer while it's still on.
    2. Wait for about 60 seconds.
    3. Reconnect the power cord and any other cables.
    4. Turn the printer back on and check if the issue persists.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
