I picked up my fathers HP 8620.  He used it about twice.  I bought new cartridges, plugged it in, connected it to the Wireless network.  I tried to print a "Printer Status Report" or ink level report and I get  Cannot Print.  HP Instant Ink Problem.  

What is going on?  Why wont this printer work?  Of course support says, it is out of our service period but we can provide you with service for a fee.

I see that you are facing an issue with your printer that does not print.

To understand the issue and help you, please share the details listed below:

 

- Exact model number/product number(SKU number) of your HP Product (Click here for information on how to find the model number/product number).

- Please share the image of the new ink cartridges that are installed on your printer.

- Error messages or Blinking lights (if any) on the unit.

- May I know which application you are using to print?

- Were there any changes made to your printer or router recently?

- May I know which devices are you using to print eg: Windows PC, Mac, or Smartphone (Android or iPhone)?

 

Note: Do not share any of your personal information such as serial, phone number, email ID, etc.

Thanks for your willingness to help.  

Let me set the right scenario.  This was my father's printer and brought it home when he was moved into an assisted living facility.  I took out the ink cartridges, packed it up, came home plugged it in, reinstalled the cartridges and tried to print from the "Print Reports section;  Printer status report, Network Configuration, Print Quality.    I got an error message that said something about the cartridges', I really don't remember.    I figured that the cartridges got damaged so I bought ALL NEW (Photo). 

 

Now it tries to print but I am getting no internet connection...  But the wireless setup is connected.    it is always going to "Checking Registration Status"   - No Internet Connection.  When it tries to print it says: HP Instant Ink Problem  Cannot Print. visit www.hpinstantink.com for information.

 

My printer is HP Officejet Pro 8620 and the serial no CN61EFW038

Using windows 10PRO

I am sorry to hear that the above steps did not help much.

 

Please turn off or disbable the web services using the below link and let me know if that resolves the issue as you are using regular ink cartridges to print.

Regular ink?   I sent you pics. Please tell me if there are different types of 950/951 ink cartridges.  

I am traveling for work and will test web services but that does not seem logical since it won’t event print a “test page” or Status.

I see that one of the ink cartridges you are using is still instant ink and you will have to replace all the instant ink cartridges with genuine HP ink cartridges to resume printing.

Well Nothing has worked and despite the attempts the printer will not print.  
All the ink has been HP and spent about $75 in new cartridges.

Perhaps I took a picture of the wrong one after I pulled it out.  Did not see a response to my question.   How do you know it is INSTANT INK?  I bought all new cartridges and nothing works.
