Hello Mishazion,

Thank you for posting your concern,

Resolving "Printhead Appears to be Missing" Error on HP OfficeJet Pro 8710

The error code "Oxc19a0023" indicating that the printhead appears to be missing can occur due to issues with the printhead or the ink carriage. Here are some steps you can take to resolve this error:

  1. Check the Printhead Installation:

    • Open the ink cartridge access door and wait for the ink carriage to stop moving.
    • Ensure that the printhead is securely installed in the carriage. Sometimes, reseating the printhead can resolve the issue.
  2. Clean the Printhead Contacts:

    • Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
    • Open the printer and gently remove the printhead.
    • Clean the electrical contacts on the printhead and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth. Ensure there are no obstructions or ink build-ups.
  3. Reinstall Ink Cartridges:

    • Remove the ink cartridges and inspect them for damage or leakage.
    • Reinsert the cartridges securely into their respective slots.
  4. Reset the Printer:

    • With the printer unplugged, press the power button for about 15 seconds.
    • Plug the printer back in and power it on. This can clear temporary errors.
  5. Check for Firmware Updates:

    • Ensure the printer firmware is up-to-date. Visit the HP Support website for the latest updates specific to your printer model.
  6. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor:

    • Use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to automatically diagnose and fix common printer problems. It's a helpful tool available for free on the HP website.
  7. Consider Replacement:

    • If the error persists, the printhead might be faulty. Check if your printer is still under warranty and consider contacting HP Support for a potential printhead replacement.

If none of these steps solve the problem, you may need to reach out to HP Support. They can provide further assistance or conduct a more detailed check of your printer’s hardware.
