@Anne1999, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Ink Cartridge Error for HP 9015e Printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Replacing an ink cartridge but still seeing a "depleted" message can be frustrating. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Check Cartridge Compatibility:

  • Ensure the cartridge is compatible with the HP OfficeJet 9015e. It should be an HP 962 or HP 962 XL cartridge.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Reinstall the Cartridge:

  • Open the printer’s cartridge access door and remove the ink cartridge.
  • Inspect the cartridge for any protective tape or packaging that may still be attached and remove them if present.
  • Reinstall the cartridge firmly into the correct slot until it clicks into place.

Clean Electrical Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Remove the ink cartridge and clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and in the printhead with a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Allow the contacts to dry for a few minutes before reinstalling the cartridge.

Check for Updated Firmware:

  • Make sure your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates via the HP Smart app or the printer's embedded web server.

Perform Printer Maintenance:

  • Use the printer’s control panel to run a printhead cleaning and alignment cycle.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
