Today I had to reinstall the printer on my Windows machine. To complete the installation it I had to go to the HP smart app. On completion of that I received a message that I now had an HP+ account. I don't want this and don't understand why it was just enabled. I have used it fine without HP+ for over 2 years and previously the HP Smart app worked fine without HP+ account.
Any thoughts on how to turn off the HP+ account and features?

Suggestion provided was to use the contact details on the HP website to call customer support. Sadly the contact details were restricted to whatapp contact. Having spent 2 days app-ing with the customer care they stated it was not possible to change, but I could try the call them and contact phone number was provided.
The contact number has an option to select "printer support" but after a long hold period you are disconnected. Same happens when I select a different language.

If you do not wish to opt for HP+ services, you may skip that option. HP smart app does not require an HP account.
You will find all the details in the instructions before setup. If that does not help, you may have to check the nearest service center.
