@PeterOF, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Empty Page Issue After Cartridge Change!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your printer is only printing empty pages after you've installed a new black ink cartridge (903XL, original HP), consider following these troubleshooting steps:

Verify Cartridge Installation:

  • Ensure that the ink cartridge is properly seated in its slot. Remove and reinsert the cartridge to ensure proper contact.

Check Ink Levels:

  • Use the printer's control panel to verify that the ink levels are adequate. If available, check for any error messages related to the cartridge status.

Print Quality Diagnostic Report:

  • Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Report to identify any specific issues with print quality.
  • On your printer control panel, select Menu > Utilities > Tools > Reports > Print Quality Diagnostic Report.

Align the Printhead:

  • Use the automated tool on your printer to align the printhead. Load plain paper and navigate through Menu > Utilities > Tools > Troubleshooting > Print Quality > Printhead Alignment.

Clean the Printhead:

  • If problems persist, perform printhead cleaning using the printer's control panel. This can help improve contact and ink flow.

Check Print Settings:

  • Ensure your print settings are correct. Confirm paper type, print quality, and color settings are appropriately configured. You can use tools such as HP Smart app to adjust these settings.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
