@Vizzzy, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding Air in Ink Tube Connecting to Printhead!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Air in the ink tube connecting to the printhead can prevent ink from being delivered properly, causing printing issues such as no color output. Here is a step-by-step guide to address this problem:
Wait for the Printer to Stop Printing
- Ensure that the printer is idle and all printing processes are completed.
Access the Printhead Carriage
- From the printer’s ready screen, press the Online/Offline button to move the printhead carriage out of the service station.
Open the Printer's Top Cover
- Open the top cover to gain access to the printhead carriage.
Open the Carriage Cover
- Undo the carriage cover to expose the printhead.
Remove the Printhead
- Lift the printhead straight up using its handle and disconnect it from the printhead carriage.
Disconnect Ink Tube from Printhead
- Disconnect the ink tube from its clips and connector, ensuring the number label matches the slot in the plastic holder assembly.
Insert the Printhead into a Purge Clip
- Hold the printhead so its jet orifice plate faces up. Insert the printhead into a purge clip.
Connect Ink Tube to Printhead
- Connect the ink tube from the ink reservoir to the ink inlet on the printhead.
Purge the Air
- Gently press and hold the purge bulb for a few seconds, allowing air bubbles or foam to escape. Ensure that the hole on the end of the purge bulb is covered by your finger during this step.
- Blot the ink with a paper towel but do not wipe it, as wiping could clog the ink jets.
Hope this helps!
Take care, and have an amazing day!
