Hi, I'm hoping someone will be able to advise. When I am printing using my HP Desktop 2800e my print is always out of alignment. If I am printing a three page document the first page is using the correct margins but pages two and three are squished horizontally. I am having to print things one page at a time for them to be the correct size. Why is this and how do I stop this? It is a very long process if I have to print a large document! Thanks in advance!

Hi @zwestwood97,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding printer alignment!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
I hear you! Printing should be quick and hassle-free, and having to print one page at a time is definitely frustrating. Let’s try a few simple steps to fix the alignment issue on your HP DeskJet 2800e:
Check Paper Size & Layout Settings
Before printing, double-check that the paper size and layout settings in your print menu match the actual paper in the tray. Sometimes, different pages in a document can have varying formatting.
On Windows: Go to File > Print, then select your printer and check Page Setup or Printer Properties. Make sure the paper size is set correctly (e.g., A4 or Letter).
On Mac: Click File > Print, then select Paper Size and make sure it's the same for all pages.
Run HP Print Alignment Tool
Your printer has a built-in alignment feature that can help fix this:
On the printer control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead.
Follow the on-screen instructions.
Update Printer Driver & Firmware
An outdated driver can sometimes cause formatting issues. Visit the HP Support Website, enter your printer model, and check for the latest software updates.
Try Printing as a PDF
If you're printing from Word or another document editor, try saving the file as a PDF first, then print from the PDF file. This often fixes layout issues.
If the problem persists, let me know, I’ll be happy to guide you further! 😊
