HP ENVY 5055 All-in-One Printer

After installing new ink cartridges (from instant ink), the printer is no longer aligned and cuts off huge amounts at the bottom.  I go through the described process of doing the alignment, print the page, and put it in the scanner.  Then after scanning, it says there was an error and to do it again.  But it never works and then halts the procedure.  What am I supposed to do next?

It seems like you're experiencing alignment issues with your HP ENVY 5055 All-In-One Printer after installing new ink cartridges. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem.

 

  • Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the new ink cartridges are correctly installed. Open the printer cover, remove the cartridges, and then reinsert them properly. Make sure they click into place.
  • Clean Cartridge Contacts: Clean the electrical contacts on the ink cartridges and inside the printer with a lint-free cloth. This can help establish a good connection.
  • Update Printer Firmware: Ensure that your printer has the latest firmware installed. You can check for updates on the HP website and follow their instructions for updating the firmware.
  • Check Paper Settings: Make sure that the paper settings in the printer match the type and size of paper you are using. Incorrect settings may lead to alignment issues.
  • Use Genuine HP Cartridges: Ensure that you are using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP or refilled cartridges might not align properly with the printer.
  • Perform Manual Alignment: If the automatic alignment is not working, you can try performing a manual alignment. This can usually be done through the printer software on your computer. Refer to the printer manual or HP's support website for specific instructions.
