3 separate problems:-

1) Black copies are fuzzy

2) Colour copies are only printing in 2 colours, not 3

3) the paper feeder is twisting the paper to the right, and it is therefore jamming within 1 to 2 inches of travel

 

I cannot find a way of speaking to someone at HP who can help me with these problems.  Can you give me a contact number for someone at HP?

1. Black Copies Are Fuzzy

This usually points to ink delivery or alignment issues:

  • Run a Print Quality Diagnostic Page:
    • Open the HP App on your computer or mobile device.
    • Go to Printer Settings > Reports > Print Quality Report.
  • Clean the Printhead:
    • In the HP App, navigate to Printer Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
    • Run the cleaning cycle and check if the black output improves.
  • Align the Printhead:
    • Use Printer Maintenance > Align Printhead to ensure crisp output.

2. Color Copies Only Printing in 2 Colours

This suggests one of the color cartridges may be clogged or empty:

  • Check Ink Levels:
    • Open the HP App and go to Supplies Status.
    • Confirm all three color cartridges (cyan, magenta, yellow) have sufficient ink.
  • Run a Printhead Cleaning Cycle:
    • Same steps as above—this helps unclog blocked nozzles.
  • Replace Low or Empty Cartridges:
    • If any cartridge is low or expired, replace it with a genuine HP cartridge.

3. Paper Feeder Twisting and Jamming

This mechanical issue can stem from misaligned rollers or debris:

  • Check for Obstructions:
    • Power off the printer and inspect the paper path and rollers.
    • Remove any torn paper, dust, or foreign objects.
  • Clean the Paper Feed Rollers:
    • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
    • Gently clean the rollers and let them dry before use.
  • Load Paper Properly:
    • Fan the stack of paper before loading.
    • Ensure the paper guides are snug but not tight.
