HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M281fdw

Hi Dear Support

Unfortunately, my printer does not print the colors right to overlap. As you can see in the attachment. After printing the file, the colors are messed up or they are not printed in the right place.

Kindly, for your information, My device model is M281fdw, This problem occurred after replacing the cartridge and I tried to re-calibrate, clean, and adjust the device, but it didn't help.

Hi @Kaa1368,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The HP LaserJet Pro M281 printer uses a laser printing technology, which typically does not involve overlapping colors in the same way that inkjet printers do. Instead of using liquid ink, laser printers use toner cartridges that contain powdered toner. The toner is applied to the paper in a precise manner using a laser and an imaging drum.

However, if you're experiencing color registration issues or asymmetric color printing on your HP LaserJet Pro M281 printer, it could be due to several factors.

  • Check the print settings: Ensure that the print settings in your software or printer driver are correctly configured for color printing. Make sure the paper type and print quality settings match your requirements.
  • Calibrate the printer: Some laser printers offer calibration options to align the toner cartridges and ensure accurate color reproduction. Check your printer's manual or HP's support website for instructions on how to calibrate your specific model.
  • Check the toner cartridges: Uneven toner distribution or improper seating of the toner cartridges can result in asymmetric color printing. Remove the toner cartridges, gently shake them to redistribute the toner, and reinstall them securely. If any of the toner cartridges are low or empty, replace them.
  • Clean the printer: Accumulated toner or debris inside the printer can affect print quality. Follow the HP instructions to clean the printer's interior, including the imaging drum, corona wires, and paper path.
  • Update the printer driver: Outdated or incompatible printer drivers can cause printing issues. Visit HP's support website and ensure you have the latest printer driver installed for your operating system.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
