Hi I have a printer 5525 all in one. I printed a few pages and suddenly the blank ink stopped working. (It literally printed around 5 pages in black and stopped). Cartiges were changed 4 months ago and they worked since now its like 3/4 of each.
I cleaned whatever inside I possibly could. but blank still doesn't work.
When I print alignment page only blue print out, yellow and red and blank don't but yellow and red and blue all work when I print something else. Its just black missing.
I just spent 2 almost 3 hours researching cleaning and thinking how to fix it and nothing.
I would love support.

Hi @EMILIAL,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've already tried some troubleshooting steps, but let's go through a few more things you can try to resolve the issue with your HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5525 printer:
- Check Ink Levels: Make sure that the black ink cartridge still has ink in it. Even though you changed the cartridges four months ago, sometimes ink can dry up or become blocked.
- Clean the Print Head Manually: Sometimes, the print head can become clogged with dried ink, especially if the printer hasn't been used for a while. Most HP printers have a utility for cleaning the print heads, which you might have already tried. If the automatic cleaning doesn't work, you can try manually cleaning the print head. HP usually provides instructions on how to do this in the printer's manual or on their website.
- Run Print Head Cleaning: Run the print head cleaning utility on your printer. This can often be found in the printer's maintenance or settings menu. Running this utility will help clear any blockages in the print head that might be causing the black ink not to print.
- Check for Updates: Ensure that your printer's firmware and drivers are up to date. Sometimes, updating the firmware can resolve printing issues. Software and Drivers for HP Deskjet Ink Advantage 5525 e-All-in-One Printer
- Try a Different Black Cartridge: If you have another black ink cartridge available, try replacing the current one with the new cartridge to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem lies with the cartridge itself.
- Reset the Printer: Sometimes, resetting the printer to its default settings can resolve issues. You can usually find instructions on how to reset your specific model of printer in the printer's manual
