Hi @b_v1,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've already done some good troubleshooting by cleaning the printhead. Here are a few more steps to try to resolve the issue:
- Check the Ink Cartridge: Make sure the black ink cartridge is properly installed and that it’s not empty or dried out. Sometimes even new cartridges can be faulty.
- Check for Ink Cartridge Compatibility: Ensure that the black ink cartridge you’re using is compatible with the HP OfficeJet Pro 6830. Incompatible cartridges can cause printing issues.
- Perform a Printhead Alignment: Go to the printer’s settings menu on your computer or printer's control panel and perform a printhead alignment. This can help ensure that the printhead is properly aligned and printing correctly.
- Update Printer Firmware: Check if there’s a firmware update available for your printer. Outdated firmware can sometimes cause printing issues. You can update the firmware through the HP Support Assistant or the HP website. Update the firmware on an HP printer
- Run the Printer Diagnostic Tool: HP printers often come with a diagnostic tool that can help identify and fix issues. You can access this tool through the HP Smart app or the printer’s control panel.
- Check the Printhead Nozzles: Sometimes, the nozzles can get clogged. You can try running a printhead cleaning cycle again, but make sure not to do it too frequently as it can waste ink.
- Try a Different Black Ink Cartridge: If possible, try using a different black ink cartridge to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the cartridge itself.
- Inspect the Printhead: Remove the printhead and check for any visible obstructions or damage. Carefully clean any visible residue or dried ink with a lint-free cloth dampened with distilled water.
