HP DeskJet 2752e All-in-One Printer

Recently my printer stopped printing in black. I changed the cartridge, still won't print. I then cleaned the head, still won't print. I tried updating the drivers, however it says there are none available. What might be the cause?

I understand your HP DeskJet 2752e printer is not printing in black despite changing the cartridge and cleaning the printhead, here are a few more steps you can try:

 

  • Check Cartridge Installation: Ensure that the black ink cartridge is securely installed. Sometimes improper installation can prevent the printer from recognizing the cartridge properly.
  • Run Automated Tools: HP printers often have automated tools for cleaning printheads and aligning cartridges. Use these tools from the printer's control panel or HP Smart app to perform deep cleaning or alignment.
  • Check Ink Levels: Verify that the new black ink cartridge has sufficient ink. Low ink levels can sometimes cause printing issues.
  • Restart Printer: Power off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 1-2 minutes, and then plug it back in. Restart the printer and check if it detects the black cartridge properly.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Even if driver updates are not available, check if there are any firmware updates for your printer. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve issues with cartridge recognition and printing. Update the firmware on an HP printer
  • Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Report: Use the printer's control panel to print a Print Quality Diagnostic Report. This report can help identify if there are any issues with the printhead or ink delivery systems.
  • Manual Cleaning of Printhead: If automated cleaning doesn't resolve the issue, you may need to manually clean the printhead. HP provides guidelines on how to do this safely for your specific printer model. Be cautious with this step to avoid damaging the printer.
