HP ENVY 6032e All-in-One Printer
macOS 12.0 Monterey

I am printing some images (JPEG) onto glossy photo paper and in black and white the images just rub off the paper... also very streaked. The colour images are fine. These are images used  in an art course I am doing and need hard copy to be able just and test colour and intensity with mixed paints which are applied to the image for comparison purposes.

Help, please.

@Djm54,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing printing issues with the HP ENVY 6032e All-In-One Printer.

I have a few recommendations

  • Ink is still wet after printing on Glossy Paper and even after ink dries, smudge appears. To resolve this issue ensure that the Media Type setting in the printer driver or the Paper Type setting in the machine's menu matches the type of paper you are using.
  • Be sure to select Photo paper in the driver settings.  The pigmented black ink is not compatible with glossy photo media.  If you select photo media in the driver the black ink will not be used, it will mix color inks to create the black areas.
  • The material in the toner itself is designed to react to heat, pressure, and friction. Rubbing the image with excessive force will cause the toner to come off the paper. This is normal and does not indicate a problem.
  • Please check if you did set the according printer settings before using glossy paper.
    Before printing, check the properties, there should be a option to change the media type.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
