I have barely used my printer over the last 18 months and the black cartridge has dried up, about 1/5 of the head actually prints.  I have followed all of the virtual assistant cleaning ideas and no difference.

I need to order a new cartridge through Instant Ink which I have been paying for for 2 yrs, but because it says the cartridge is still nearly full it won't dispatch one.  I am not paying for a new cartridge, so how do I get a new black cartridge dispatched?

Print a few 100% full black A4 pages and you will empty it fast.

How can I print a full black page when the cartridge has dried up and nothing is coming out of it..... So the ink level in the cartridge is not dropping.

It doesn't matter because the ink level is dropping, and that's important.

The ink level is calculated by pages printed and coverage, it will go low even if there is no ink on paper.
