I purchased a two-pack of black HP printer ink for this printer. Put in a new cartridge and a week later it's out of black ink... we do not print very much at all. May have printed 15 or 20 pages, who knows. Anyway ... as much as this ink costs I'm feeling pretty scrooged over atm. Good thing I bought a two pack! What can be done?

This is exactly why I'm trying to reach out to support. I bought all the color cartridges and a black one and printed maybe 6 pages and didn't use it again until months later. The printer said it was out of ink. I was really aggravated but thought I made the mistake so purchased all the cartridges again to print 4 pages. This time I took them all out and put into a zip lock bag and sealed. Sure enough, I needed to print something very important and after putting the cartridges back in, I got the same message. Out of Ink! grrrr At this rate what I'm paying to print I could be using gold leaf paper. What are we supposed to do?

Hi @Buh-Bye, SCOTTISHBROOM,
Welcome to the HP Support Community
I'd like to help!
The actual yield will vary depending upon the amount of content on the page. Highly "dense" documents, such as the text document, may yield fewer pages, while less dense ones such as the organization chart would yield more pages than the standard. Printing that uses primarily one color could cause lower yields for that color, and higher yields for colors not heavily used. The yield you experience will depend upon the content that you print.
As the page count is very low, I've sent you a private message with further instructions to get this issue sorted.
