HP DeskJet 2752e All-in-One Printer

My printer says my color ink is full and my BW ink is 2/3 full but when I print I get no black whatsoever. I cleaned the cartridges with alcohol but that did not help.

Hi @TECHFAILAGAIN,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP DeskJet 2752e All-In-One Printer is not printing black ink even though the ink cartridge is almost full, there could be several reasons for this issue. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow to address the problem.

Check Ink Levels: First, verify that the black ink cartridge is indeed almost full as indicated by the printer. Sometimes, the ink level readings may not be accurate, so it's essential to confirm the actual ink level in the cartridge.

Clean the Print Head:

  • Most printers, including HP DeskJet models, have a built-in print head cleaning function. You can access this feature through your printer's control panel or printer software on your computer.
  • Run a print head cleaning cycle to remove any clogs or dried ink that may be blocking the black ink from flowing correctly.

Replace the Black Ink Cartridge:

  • Even if the ink level appears to be almost full, the black ink cartridge may still be experiencing issues.
  • Try replacing the black ink cartridge with a new and genuine HP cartridge to see if that resolves the problem.

Check for Empty Cartridges:

  • Some all-in-one printers require that all color cartridges have some ink remaining, even if you're primarily printing in black. Check the status of your color cartridges to ensure they have ink as well.

Check for Air Bubbles:

  • Sometimes, air bubbles can get trapped in the ink cartridge, preventing ink flow. Gently tap the cartridge to dislodge any air bubbles and try printing again.

Alignment and Calibration:

  • Perform an alignment and calibration of your printer. This can help ensure that the printer is properly distributing ink on the page.

Use Genuine HP Ink Cartridges:

  • Using genuine HP ink cartridges is crucial for optimal performance and compatibility. Third-party or refilled cartridges may not work correctly or cause issues.

Update Printer Firmware/Driver:

  • Ensure that your printer's firmware and driver are up to date. Sometimes, software updates can address printing issues.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hello,

So I tried all the steps (minus buying new ink) and the test page comes out light on color and I see no black. One of the pages shows a blue purple and yellow stripe in black parenthesis and that looks true to tone, but printing test pages after that they look weak and no black. I checked the ink levels on the web page (Embedded Web Server) and both the color and black ink have green check marks next to them. I'm not real excited to have to buy new cartridges when the color is almost full and the B/W still says good.

So I went to that link, and basically it leads me to call tech support. So I called and got the automated tree and it led me to pick 1 of 2 choices. The first choice (all other issues) said it was an invalid selection so I tried the other choice (instant ink customer or instant ink subscription, which I'm not) and it said it was an invalid selection and hung up on me. Soooo, I cannot get a hold of anyone to help.
