Black ink dots have now begun appearing on printed page from our M478f-9f PCL-6 laserjet printer. The ink dots appear vertically to the left of the center of the page. The black ink cartridge is half full. I lifted out the black ink cartridge and inspected the roller but didn't see anything of concern. We bought this printer in February 2020 and have been using this printer daily since then. I did a little searching online for cause/resolution but haven't found anything. I would appreciate your help in achieving a resolution! 🙂

Can you clarify the dots, are the large or more like a pen mark? Is the toner well bonded on the dots. If they are small dots then likely you have an issue with your black cartridge, you can remove it and see if there is anything stuck to the drum. You can try cleaned by gently wiping the drum with a soft, lint free cloth but you may need to replace the cartridge. If the dots are larger and not well bonded then you might have a fuser issue. If you can post a sample it would help.
