Black ink not working. I am unable to print black and white pages. My colors work perfectly.

I have owned my printer for several years. My black ink is not printing. I have changed cartridge several times with HP ink. My quality report does not register black ink. I can print color fine. Trying to print a black and white page comes out blank. I have cleaned cartride. No one services these printers anymore.

I helped a friend who had a similar problem; turned out that he was printing white on white even though his "Word" document showed black on white.  He had to high-lite the text in the document and change the color to black; much like you highlighting the text and making it red or blue etc. 

Another possibility is that the black print head is clogged.  If you do a "clean Print-head," does black ink show on the test page?  If it does without streaking, then the print head is not clogged. Which takes you back to making sure that you are not printing white text.
