I purchased this printer recently, brand new but from another person who just never used it. Was still wrapped in the packaging. I was able to print off a couple things before the ink ran out. I purchased all new ink, all HP brand at a local store. All the ink levels showed full. However now when I tri to print, the black ink doesn't show up. I followed a tutorial of cleaning the catridges. Did the 3 level 2 different times. Now my black in is almost empty, however none of the black is showing up on the prints. I have no clue where my ink is going and why it isn't going on my paper. I've tried an alignment and the other steps mentioned above. I'm lost. I really don't want to have to trash this printer that I just bought. Help!

I'd like to help!

 

To be able to answer you effectively, we need some information.

 

Since you mentioned that the black ink is not printing, how about the color, does it print okay?

If yes then the black Ink may be faulty. 

 

However, if you have performed all the steps from this document and still having issues, it could be either the printer that needs to be checked or the Ink. 

 

Try and update the Firmware and see how it goes.

So sorry for the major delay in response. Unfortunately none of those options helped. The black ink still doesn't show up, while all the color ink does. All of them were brand new ink cartridges that were name brand hp.
