HP OfficeJet 6962 All-in-One Printer

No matter what I try, I cannot get the blank ink to print. I've tried all three levels of cleaning the printheads from the Smart app, cleaning the printheads from the printer, uninstalling and reinstalling, using distilled water to clean the connection between the printer and the cartridge, and the black ink cartridge is still not working properly. When I print the test pages that show the bracketed color blocks, all colors show except black. The weird thing is, though, that the brackets are black.  When I print the test page that includes black letters at the top, they come out a faint grey.  Nothing else black will print, including alignment pages.
