My Photosmart 6520 printer stopped printing black ink. I did everything recommended by HP, virtual agents, community.
I opened the printer, installed new cartridges, tried printing, etc. but no black ink.
I touched the bottom of all four ink cartridge and my fingers stained blue, magenta, yellow and black. I looked at the openings into the printer that allow ink to flow from the cartridge into the printer. The blue, magenta and yellow openings were blue, magenta & yellow.
I looked at the 'black' opening that is supposed to allow ink from the cartridge to move into the printer. The opening was silver, ie it was clear and did not have any black ink on it, so no black print. I tried a second black ink cartridge, but no luck. I tried cleaning the opening into the printer but no luck. It has to be that the opening for the black ink cartridge deteriorates over time past the warranty expiration date.
Any suggestions?
