Hello: HP OJPro 8025e with print quality issues. Especially with black ink printouts. Text is missing both horizontally and vertically. Have replaced both Black and all color ink cartridges and completed Level 3 print cleaning ,Smear tests & Alignment test with no resolution. Made sure ink vents are clean as well as per HP troubleshooting. Is the next step Printhead replacement ? Is it worth the cost to do so? Printer is 3 years old.
Thank-you

Hi @Robertsonsc,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you've already done a thorough job troubleshooting the issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e, including replacing the ink cartridges and performing various tests. Missing lines in black printouts can often point to a clogged printhead or issues with the ink delivery system.
Here are a few steps you can still try before considering a printhead replacement:
- Manual Printhead Cleaning: Sometimes, automated cleaning isn’t enough. If you haven't already, try gently cleaning the printhead manually with a lint-free cloth dampened with warm water. Let it dry thoroughly before reinserting it into the printer.
- Check the Printhead Alignment: Although you've already done an alignment test, it's worth running the alignment again if you haven't recently. Misalignment can cause poor print quality, especially with text.
- Printhead Diagnostic: Some HP printers allow you to perform a diagnostic printhead test (a diagnostic page that will help you identify printhead issues). Check your printer's settings to see if this is available.
- Try a Soft Reset: Perform a soft reset of the printer (turn it off, unplug it for about a minute, and then restart). Sometimes this can resolve lingering issues with the printer's internal systems.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
