Trying again.

Hey!

Since i bought this printer, the black printing quality is off. Ive cleaned, aligning and removed smear dozen of times. I have changed to a new ink cartridge too. Ive cleaned the ink cartridge with distilled water and cotton swabs. Worked one print, then the same bad quality after that. I cant continue this way, this cleaning and adjustment have cost half my ink and paper. Because every print job is bad in black, imagine my text print outs!

One thing i have not done, is poking inside the ink head with cotton swabs. Dont dare to do that without a step-by-step guide. Do you have any?

I have looked through the community for same issues. Seems like this is a very very common (unsolved for most) issue by HP printers. Yet only one solution to "fix it" by use a cotton swab on the cartridge. Which I have done so many times that i have lost track, it fixes it for 1 print, that is not an solution...

Do you serioulsy dont have any other solution for this very major common issue for your printers?

This is how the black looks like after all levels of aligning, cleaned, and removed smear.

(Frustration builds up...) Since the cotton-swab-guide seems to be your only solution that acctualy do not fixes the issue we all have, then this must be a hardwire design issue that apparently almost all of your printers have.

Time for an upgrade or change of design?

Still holding on tight for a fix!

Hi @Dunder1,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If the black print quality of your HP ENVY Photo 6234 All-In-One Printer is bad, there could be several reasons behind the issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and improve the black print quality.

  • Check Ink Levels: Make sure that the black ink cartridge has enough ink. Low ink levels can lead to poor print quality. If the ink levels are low, replace the cartridge with a new one.
  • Clean Print Head: Over time, the print head can become clogged or dirty, affecting print quality. Most printers have a utility to clean the print head. Refer to your printer's manual for instructions on how to do this.
  • Run Print Head Alignment: Running a print head alignment can help ensure that the nozzles are properly aligned, resulting in better print quality.
  • Check Paper Type and Quality: The type and quality of paper you use can impact print results. Make sure you are using the appropriate type of paper for your printer and that it's in good condition.
  • Print Quality Settings: Check the print quality settings in the printer driver. Make sure it's set to the appropriate level for the type of document you're printing. Higher quality settings generally result in better print quality but may take longer.
  • Update Printer Driver: Outdated or corrupted printer drivers can cause print quality issues. Visit the HP website to ensure you have the latest driver installed for your printer model.
  • Check for Firmware Updates: Sometimes printer firmware updates can improve overall performance, including print quality.
  • Perform a Nozzle Check: Many printers have a nozzle check feature that can help identify and resolve print quality problems. This feature prints a test page that allows you to see if any nozzles are clogged or misaligned.
  • Use Genuine Ink Cartridges: Using genuine HP ink cartridges is recommended, as third-party or refilled cartridges might not provide the same print quality.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Is this an Admin or BOT that use copy & paste answers for just reading the headline?

Seen this EXACT ANSWER on other community questions about ink quality, where I have been looking & searching for a solution myself, but didnt find anything, just Admins with the same suggestions, their copy & paste... This is like the most common issues in this community and it looks like you have given up solving this major "hardwire issue."

...this reply screams that you only read the headline,

didnt even mind reading my question at all.

This was not helpful...
