CP5225dn
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello,

My HP CP5225dn prints black stripes (mostly black) on every sheet. I have replaced all toner cartridges twice. It doesn't matter if I print in black or color. Called up a tech guy to clean it up, but seems like it didn't work. I would appreciate some ideas about what is wrong with it. My bet would be on transfer belt, but it is quite expensive in this model, so before I buy it I would like to make sure that this is the part I really need. Or maybe I need Printhead Wiper Kit?

Below you can see how it looks like, or here is the link to the scanned sheet .

Thank you for all answers.

You will need to replace the transfer belt as a more expensive solution, or clean transfer belt that is way cheaper but messy.

Hello,

I have cleaned it up without taking it apart. It got better, but those stripes are still a bit visible. Is it a good idea (for a newbie) to take transfer belt apart?

You don't have much to lose. You will need to disassemble the front part of the belt, one screw on the left side when you remove it you will see cleaning blade and waste toner.

Thank you, Valsimot.

I have managed to clean it up, but I think I did more bad than good... There was a little plastic thing that holds the spring and keeps the transfer belt tight - I have broke it when I was screwing everything back in. I glued that plastic back, so far it works. I hope it wont mess up anything in the printer later if it snaps.
