Hi @Stuartbenton

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP printer is properly connected but is struggling to print correctly.

Blank pages can happen for a few reasons—let’s troubleshoot this step by step:

1. Check the Ink Levels

Open the HP Smart app on your Android device and navigate to the printer settings to check the ink levels.

If the ink cartridges are low or empty, replace them with new ones.

2. Run a Printer Self-Test

Most HP printers have a self-test or alignment feature that can be accessed from the control panel or the HP Smart app.

Running this will help determine if the issue is with the printer hardware or software.

3. Clean the Printheads

If ink cartridges are fine, the printheads might be clogged. Use the HP Smart app or the printer’s menu to run the Printhead Cleaning utility.

4. Verify Paper Settings

Ensure that the type of paper loaded in the printer matches the settings in the app or print job settings (e.g., plain paper, A4 size, etc.).

5. Update the Printer Firmware

HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.

Click on the link below for instructions on how to update the firmware of your printer.

6. Reinstall the Printer on the HP Smart App

Remove the printer from the HP Smart app and set it up again:

Open the app, select your printer, and remove it.

Reconnect the printer by following the setup process. Ensure the app detects and applies the correct drivers.

7. Test with a Different Document

Try sending a different print job, such as a plain text document or a simple image, to rule out issues with the original document.

8. Check Print Preferences

Before sending the print job, review the print preferences in the HP Smart app:

Ensure the correct print mode (e.g., color or black-and-white) is selected.

Verify that the settings do not include "Print Preview" or "Draft" mode, as these might cause unexpected results.
