Hi @BigPic,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP OfficeJet 3830 printer is printing blank pages even after you've installed a new cartridge, cleaned the cartridge, and aligned it, there are a few additional steps you can take to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue.
Check for Protective Tape: Ensure that you've removed any protective tape or stickers from the new cartridge. Sometimes, these tapes can block the ink flow.
Check Ink Levels: Verify that the new cartridge has sufficient ink. Most HP printers have an option in the settings menu to check the ink levels. If the ink level is low or empty, replace the cartridge with a new one.
Printer Software: Make sure you have the latest printer software and drivers installed. Visit the HP website and download the latest drivers for your specific printer model.
Clean the Printhead Manually:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Open the printer cover to access the printhead.
- Gently remove the cartridge and set it aside.
- Use a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water to clean the printhead. Be gentle and avoid touching the nozzles.
- Allow the printhead to dry completely.
- Reinstall the cartridge, close the cover, and plug in the printer.
- Turn on the printer and try printing again.
Run Print Diagnostic Tools: HP often provides diagnostic tools and utilities that can help identify and resolve printing problems. You can check the HP Support website for these tools and follow their instructions.
Check for Clogged Nozzles: If the printhead nozzles are clogged, it can prevent ink from flowing properly. Some HP printers have a built-in cleaning utility that you can access through the printer's control panel. Follow the printer's user manual to perform a printhead cleaning.
Reset the Printer: Sometimes, a simple reset can resolve minor printing issues. Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for a minute, and then plug it back in. Turn on the printer and try printing again.
Firmware Update: Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer. Updating the firmware can sometimes resolve compatibility issues and improve printer performance.
Test on Another Computer: Try printing from a different computer to rule out any computer-specific issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
