I have a HP5530 printer. As the original HP cartridge is too expensive, I decided to discontinue my subscription to instant ink. I went ahead and purchased a cheaper cartridge. When I installed it in the printer, I got a message which says that the cartridge has been blocked and can only be used after enrolling in instant ink. Can you please advise how to remove this block on my new non HP cartridge.
Thanks.

Non HP ink can be used on this list of HP printers.
General ink cartridge help
and these LaserJets can accept toner not made by HP.
I do not have an instant ink printer. My understanding is that if you run out of ink, or you cancel your subscription, you can use genuine Hewlett Packard cartridges either original or refilled. They must have an HP chip in the cartridge. if you recently canceled you can use the instant ink through the rest of the month but not afterwards.
The below type is unlikely to work.
To check if an HP ink cartridge is genuine, look for a security label on the cartridge, scan the QR code on the label with your phone, and then go to HP's website hp.com/go/ok to verify the serial number on the label; if the label appears tampered or the serial number doesn't validate, the cartridge is likely not genuine.
