My HP printer has new ink (just replaced after previous replacement cartridges did not work/errored) , printer head cleaning has been run twice and all colors are beautiful... except blue. It does not work at all. Any suggestions?

Hi @Bemade

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that the Cyan ink is still not working even after you replaced the cartridge. Could you please confirm whether you are using Instant Ink cartridges or standard ones and do you see any error displayed on the display? In the meantime, I would request you to perform the following steps and check the results.

Check Cartridge Status and Installation

  • Remove the cyan cartridge and reinsert it, ensuring it clicks firmly into place.
  • Inspect the cartridge for any protective tape that may still be covering the contacts or nozzle.

Clean the Contacts and Printhead

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Gently clean the gold contacts on the cartridge and the corresponding contacts inside the printer with a lint-free cloth lightly dampened with distilled water.
  • Reinsert the cartridge and power the printer back on.

Update Firmware

Go to HP Software & Drivers and ensure the latest printer firmware is installed. This can sometimes fix cartridge recognition or ink flow issues.

Print Quality Diagnostic/Test Page and share.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

Hi, I tried different HP tests and cleaning, but it is not helping.

Blue inl tank is full, never recharged since first time (2025) and was working till last week (till 21/05/2026)

Printer is not showing any alerts that something is wrong

what can I try to do it by myself before I go to the service center or call your hot line?
