Hi, I am having a very similar problem, except the blue splotch covers the majority of the printed page (every document). I am suspecting that the CYAN cartridge is bad because I bought a cheap knockoff of the cartridge. (learned my lesson the hard way).

Do I need to clean it somehow before putting new cartridge in? Could it be cleaned somehow? I don't want to put in a new cartridge and it get messed up because the printer is still dirty.

I have tried "Cleaning Page" and that doesn't seem to do anything. I even pulled out cartridges and followed a youtube video on how to clean the printer but the printer in the video was too different from mine to be useful. I inspected the exposed blue drum on the bottom and there were no problems I could see, no damage or prints.

Any information would be appreciated. Thanks,

Tekman J.

Hi @TEKMAN-JACOBY,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I understand that you are facing issues with print quality. I'd like to help!

If you have followed the steps from this document here and still facing issues, try installing HP genuine ink cartridges/toners. If that does not help then it could be a hardware issue.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
