HP Deskjet F4480 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Two black  ink cartridges ago the printing head did not want to align. I gave up and continued to use as is. The biggest issue are bar codes for my shipping labels. Neither USPS or UPS scanners can read. The next cartridge change still same thing. Is it time to replace this printer or is there something I can repair/clean, etc.? I still have spare cartridges and no printers currently, being made, accept these #60 cartridges. It is frustrating that HP keeps obsoleting cartridges.  Staples used to take them back if the date code was good, but there no longer are any Staples near me.

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.

Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:

  • Does the copy print out the same way?
  • Have you tried copying a barcode and checking?
  • Have you tried printing barcodes on normal paper?

Keep me posted for further assistance.

Yes everything I print come out same way. The postal carrier finally mentioned to me that I bar codes do not scan, but all printing is slightly blurred like a double die hit on a coin. Yes all paper and labels do the same exact thing.

Thank you.
