I had two C460W with different problems. I managed to solve the problem with one of the printers, it had paper jam in tray 1 because of a bad solenoid. To try to fix the other one I put parts from the now working printer. I have therefore ruled out problems with toner, drum unit, transferbelt and fuser. I have also tried to clean inside the machine as good as I can. It still prints like this. Anyone have an idea?

Hi @N_H-J_92,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are facing a blurry printing on one side of a laser printer, such as your Samsung Xpress SL-C460W, can be caused by various issues. Given that you've already swapped parts from a working printer and cleaned the machine,
here are a few additional things you can check:
Alignment and Calibration:
- Ensure the printer is properly aligned and calibrated. Check the printer's manual for instructions on how to perform these tasks. Most laser printers have a built-in alignment or calibration function that you can access through the printer's control panel or software.
Check for Obstructions:
- Inspect the printer for any remaining obstructions or debris that might be interfering with the print process. Even a small piece of paper or dust can cause printing issues.
Rollers and Feed Mechanism:
- Check the paper feed rollers and other moving parts for wear and tear. Sometimes, rollers can get dirty or worn out, causing uneven pressure on the paper, and leading to blurriness on one side. Clean the rollers with a lint-free cloth and a small amount of water if needed.
Laser Scanner Unit:
- The laser scanner unit (LSU) could have issues. Dust or debris on the LSU mirrors can cause print quality problems. If you're comfortable opening the printer further, you might want to inspect and clean the LSU.
Firmware and Software:
- Ensure that the printer’s firmware is up to date. Sometimes, firmware updates can resolve print quality issues. Also, try reinstalling the printer driver to ensure it’s not a software-related problem.
Environment and Humidity:
- Consider the environment where the printer is located. High humidity or temperature fluctuations can affect print quality. Ensure the printer is in a stable environment.
Transfer Belt Alignment:
- Even though you’ve ruled out the transfer belt by swapping parts, make sure it’s correctly aligned and seated within the printer.
Service Mode Diagnostics:
- Some printers have a service mode that allows you to run diagnostics and tests. Refer to the printer’s service manual to see if there’s a specific test or adjustment you can perform.
Refer to this document: Samsung Xpress SL-C460 Color Laser Multifunction User manual
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Thank you Gaya1239 for your fast and detailed reply.
Now I'm more confused than I've ever been. I've assembled the bad printer to try your suggestions and before I did that I put some duct tape on the bad solenoid to try to make up for the lack of rubber on the solenoid which I thought was the problem. I know this isn't a solid solution but I thought this would work until the new solenoid arrieves (so I can test your suggestions in the meantime). The thing is that when I started it it printed a perfect page, not blurry at all. But if I print more than one page there is a real paper jam but not in tray 1, the paper jam is now in the scanner unit.
Do I need to check in to the psychiatric hospital or is there a logical reason to this? 😅
