This is incredibly frustrating. I purchased a brand new toner cartridge from Walmart more than 90 days ago because it was on sale. Now that my current ink cartridge is running out I went to install the new cartridge and to my surprise the print quality was still poor. I ran a Supplies Status report and the printer thinks this is a used cartridge. I checked the report a counterfeit HP site and everything with the sealed cartridge box is in order. How do I get this printer to recognize the toner? I NEED to print for my small business.

Was the cartridge sealed in the box and in the bag it comes in? Always possible someone scammed Walmart. On the new problem cartridge, examine the green/blue drum on the cartridge. If new it should have a consistent shiny surface with no markings. if you can see dull or sections with faint lines it is likely a used toner.
