@Gerald-2b_, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Samsung Xpress C1860FW

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand that your Samsung Xpress C1860FW laser printer is printing faded black ink, and I’d be happy to assist you.

Here are a few troubleshooting steps to resolve this issue:

Check the Toner Levels:

  • Low or empty toner cartridges can cause faded prints. You can check the toner levels from the printer’s control panel or the Samsung Easy Printer Manager on your computer.
  • If the black toner is low, try replacing it with a genuine toner cartridge.

Remove and Reinstall the Black Toner Cartridge:

  • Open the front cover and carefully remove the black toner cartridge.
  • Gently shake the cartridge from side to side to redistribute the toner evenly.
  • Reinsert the cartridge securely and close the cover.

Run a Cleaning Cycle:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Menu > System Setup > Maintenance > Clean Drum to clean the imaging drum.
  • You can also clean the Transfer Belt by navigating to System Setup > Maintenance > Clean Transfer Belt.

Check the Print Density Settings:

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Menu > System Setup > Print Density and increase the density if it is too low.

Update the Printer Firmware and Drivers:

  • Ensure your printer firmware and drivers are up to date. You can download the latest versions from the HP Support website.

If the issue persists after trying these steps, let me know, and I’ll be happy to provide further assistance.

Looking forward to your response!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
