HP OfficeJet Pro 8028 All-in-One Printer

My mother has an OfficeJet Pro 8028. The printer was unplugged for a few minutes and when plugging in and restarting, the power button was pushed for a few seconds and a menu came up asking about resetting the printer. Nothing was chosen and the printer reset. The printer then showed a message to “Use SETUP cartridges that came with your printer.”  My mom advises she discarded the original cartridges. The printer printed well, nothing is out of line, etc., but the printer will not advance beyond this screen. How can this screen be bypassed?  Thank you!

Hi @JWM1231
Welcome to HP Support Community. This is a great place to post questions and find answers.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I see that you are facing setup cartridge issues on your HP printer.

Please follow the steps listed below to initialize the printer using the regular cartridges.

On the control panel, touch Home, then Back twice, and then Home.

Option#1 in the above picture is Back & Option# 2 is Home.

Let me know if this helps and have a good day.
