Hi @mgray015 ,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I am sorry to hear that.

Leaking ink cartridges in your HP OfficeJet 8025 printer can be caused by either a faulty cartridge or an issue with the printer itself.

Here's how to diagnose the problem:

1. Faulty Cartridge:

This is the most common culprit. Here's what to check:

  • Damaged Cartridge: Inspect the cartridges for any physical damage like cracks or dents. These can cause leaks.
  • Incorrect Installation: Ensure the cartridges are properly snapped into place according to the HP instructions. A loose cartridge might not seal correctly.
  • Aftermarket Cartridges: If you're using refilled or third-party cartridges, they might not be compatible with your printer and could leak. Try using genuine HP cartridges for a test.

2. Printer Issue:

If replacing the cartridges with genuine HP ones doesn't solve the leak, there might be a problem with the printer:

  • Faulty Printhead: A clogged or damaged printhead can cause ink to back up and leak from the cartridges.
  • Internal Printer Damage: There could be internal damage to the ink delivery system within the printer itself.

Troubleshooting Steps:

  • Clean the Cartridge Contacts: Wipe down the electrical contacts on both the cartridge and the printer with a dry, lint-free cloth.
  • Run Cleaning Cycles: Your HP OfficeJet 8025 might have built-in cleaning cycles to unclog the printhead. Consult your user manual to find and run these cleaning options.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
