Hello, I have an HP Color LaserJet CP5225n which seems to be operating correctly (there are no error messages) except that yellow is not printing on about 25% of the page across its width.
I have attached some images below, showing some test printouts. I have changed the toner cartridge, but this did not make any difference.
The printer currently has a full set (CMYK) of new genuine HP toner cartridges, which were used when the test prints were made.
The toner supplier did not think it was the fuser unit as that would likely impact all four colors.
Not sure whether the transfer belt could cause this problem?
Out of Warranty, so limited help from HP. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You either have a bad cartridge or an issue with the scanner for that color. I would put my money on a faulty cartridge. Even with OEM this happens. Also be aware that some vendors refill HP cartridges and try to pass them off as new.
And yes a faulty transfer belt would in most cases affect all colors or cause yellow toner to be dragged across the page. Fuser as well would cause issue with all colors. As there is no residual toner of note on the rest of the page, it further suggests a cartridge problem.
I am a volunteer, offering my knowledge to support fellow users, I do not work for HP nor speak for HP.

Thank you Repairatrooper, very helpful to know it is not (or highly unlikely to be) the transfer belt or fuser. These are both expensive to replace.
I did wonder whether the toner slot could be damaged so that one end of the cartridge is too far away from the transfer belt, so it can't transfer the pigments effectively. Is that a possibility? (There is no problem inserting and removing the toner cartridge, so it's not obviously broken.)
However, sounds like my best course of action is to buy a yellow toner cartridge direct from HP, and see if that fixes the issue.
Thank you for your help.
