I have the HP Color Laser Jet Pro MFP M479fdw and need to know if I can still print using black ink if one of the color cartridges is empty. Mine has not run out but will soon. I have set my printer to print in b&w, and I have a lot of black refill cartridges. Will my printer not work if I don't replace an empty color cartridge?

Hello,
Hope you are fine, the printer will allow you to still print black and white even when the color cartridges are very low, however if a cartridge goes totally empty, the machine will send a message to replace the empty toner, because as soon as one of the cartridges cylinders are running empty that may trigger the alert of depleted cartridge.
Regards,
