HP DeskJet 2720e All-in-One Printer

I use a HP Deskjet 2720e - which I believe is an inkjet printer - and I am wondering if I can use Shrinky Dink paper in it. My 120 g.m² regular paper works fine in it, but I'm wondering if the translucent quality of Shrinky Dink paper would cause issues. The shrink paper is designed for inkjet printers, so I imagine there'd be no issue? I just want to double check.

Hi @AJF0001,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.

I see that you are looking for information related to using a specific media on your Printer.

Yes, you can use Shrinky Dink paper with your HP Deskjet 2720e printer, provided that the paper is specifically designed for inkjet printers, as you mentioned. Here are a few tips to ensure smooth printing and optimal results:

Check Paper Specifications: Ensure that the Shrinky Dink paper you have is indeed designed for inkjet printers. It should be able to handle the ink and adhere well to the printer’s feed system.

Printer Settings: Adjust your printer settings to match the type of paper you're using. Look for an option for “Glossy” or “Photo Paper” in the print settings, as these are typically more suited to specialty papers.

Feed the Paper Correctly: Since Shrinky Dink paper is translucent and may be thinner or more delicate than regular paper, it’s crucial to feed it into the printer properly. Avoid using the manual feed slot if your printer has one, as it might not handle the specialty paper well.

Test Print: It’s a good idea to do a test print with a small design to check how the printer handles the Shrinky Dink paper. This will also allow you to see how the ink appears and ensure that it doesn't smudge or bleed.

Drying Time: After printing, allow the Shrinky Dink paper to dry completely before handling or baking. This helps avoid smudging and ensures that the ink adheres properly.
