Can I use ink cartridges from old 6230 printer in the new 6234 one? I have transferred my Instant ink account to the new printer but it will not print. Error message says' Cartridge can only be used in printer that initially installed it.' Advice please.

Hi @leedeeb,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to assist you.
I understand you're experiencing an issue with using your old printer insant ink cartridges on the new printer.
Unfortunately, you wont be able to use the same ink cartridges on the new printer even if it is subscribed with the instant ink service.
You will have to cancel your old printer subscription and enroll your new printer.
HP will send you a set of new instant ink cartridges that will work with your new printer.
Please mark this post as “Accepted Solution” if the issue is resolved and if you feel this reply was helpful click “Yes”.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a great day ahead!

Hi Irwin - er- 6
Are you a robot? I hope not!
Your employers offer a facility to replace a printer on the 'instant ink' scheme which I have already used and completed . There is no indication on any of the website pages or alleged 'support solutions' that I would need to cancel my subscription. I have already enrolled the new printer in the scheme but there has been no notification that replacement cartridges would be sent to me. In fact I received these messages:
Our records show you have replacement HP Instant Ink subscription cartridges from a previous shipment. Please install them now to continue printing with Instant Ink.
|
And then:
We noticed you may have something wrong with an ink cartridge inserted in your HP ENVY Photo 6234 All-in-One Printer. This could impact your printing.
If you are having trouble printing, please reinstall your ink cartridge and restart your printer. If the problem continues, contact support.
I have reinstalled and restarted several times.
It seems that cartridges are electronically tied to a machine on installation and cannot be used on a different machine but HP do not appear to be inclined to tell me this or offer new cartridges (- they' ve taken my money though! ) or send me a returns envelope. Shouldn't the scheme do this automatically?
Can you give a email address or specific tel/mob number to contact to discuss this or can you, as an HP employee facilitate the required process?
I await your further wisdom but thank you foryour help so far.
